Don’t miss this exciting event! All pass holders are invited. There will be awards given in all categories – narrative features and shorts, documentary features and shorts, and animated features and shorts – with student films being evaluated separately. You will have the opportunity to vote for your favorite “Audience Award” after each screening. Come congratulate the winners!
The George Sanger Best of Fest Student Film: The jurors will select the one student film that stands out above the others. A $5000 Cash Award. Donated in memory of the beloved Coronado physician who “always loved encouraging young people,” by his adoring family.
The Dale St. Denis Woman in Film Award: Any category. Excellent film achievement by a female filmmaker. A $3000 Cash Award. Donated by the friends and family of Dale St. Denis, Coronado architect, artist, and staunch supporter, from the beginning, of the women who brought CIFF to life. He died in 2016.
The Emerald Award: Any category. Awarded to the film that best portrays the following: A person or persons who identify a need or wrong, take a risk, and work selflessly to promote peace, education, freedom from oppression, well-being, and/or protection of the planet and all that lives upon it. A film that reminds viewers that each of us can be a force for good in the world.
